Bradford Teaching Hospitals is seeking nominations for three seats on its Council of Governors.
This is an exciting opportunity to represent your community’s views.
The Trust is seeking to fill two of its public seats – one from people who live in Keighley, and one from people who live in Bradford East, which includes Bolton and Undercliffe, Bowling and Barkerend, Bradford Moor, Eccleshill, Idle and Thackley and Little Horton.
The Trust is also seeking to fill one patient seat from people who live outside of the Bradford area.
The Trust’s Council of Governors represents the views of its diverse communities and uses its influence to hold the Trust’s non-executive directors to account for the performance of the Board.
Associate Director of Corporate Governance/Board Secretary, Laura Parsons, said:
The Council of Governors has an important role in making our Foundation Trust publicly accountable for the services it provides.
It is important that people stand as governors so that we have the voices of our communities influencing the important decisions that we make.
We actively encourage people to take part in aspects of hospital life and this is one more way that people can get involved.
The Council of Governors is made up of staff, appointed governors from partner organisations and 13 elected members from our public and patient constituencies. To stand you must be a Foundation Trust member, aged 16 or over and live in the area you want to represent.
