We have been made aware of bogus text messages being sent to patients telling them that if they do not turn up for a specified appointment, they will be charged £150.
This is a widespread problem affecting the NHS and it is possible some of our patients may receive such a message. If you are in any doubt about the authenticity of a message, please call our Central Patient Booking Service on 01274 274274.
Please be reassured that we do not share telephone numbers outside the NHS. Text messages from us will always read as follows:
“Appt For: [Name] Date: [day/month/year]. Not attending costs NHS 160 GBP approx. Call 01274 274274 if you need to cancel or rearrange.”
