What we do

Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has a well-established urology department with modern and state-of-the-art facilities.

We deal with uro-oncology, laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, LASER endoscopic (stone) surgery, incontinence treatments and general urology.

In 2012, we purchased a £2 million Da Vinci surgical robot to offer patients state-of-the-art minimally invasive 3D prostate and kidney surgery. We are now one of the largest centres for robotic urology in the North of England.

  • We are the Western-West Yorkshire Uro-Oncology Centre, and receive referrals from a population of just under one million people.
  • We have nurse-led clinics for prostate assessment and oncology follow-up.
  • We were the first hospital in the country to establish a GP With special interests-led flexible cystoscopy service, urology triage and haematuria clinics.
