It’s Specialty and Associate Specialist doctors (SAS) week! SAS week is a celebration to promote and highlight the value of SAS doctors.
SAS doctors make up about 10% of our senior medical staff and are represented in every Clinical Support Unit within Bradford Teaching Hospitals.
Dr Ray Smith, Chief Medical Officer, explained:
They not only provide outstanding specialist care to our patients, but also support wider Trust business through teaching, innovation, support for more junior colleagues and through managerial roles. Their contribution to the provision of safe and effective care is huge, and it is great to be able to celebrate that contribution during SAS week.
