Why Bradford?

Bradford Teaching Hospitals is a special place to work. While we’re a large regional centre recognised for clinical excellence, we’re also known for our friendly and inclusive culture. People come to work here to care for our patients and progress their careers – and stay because they become part of our family.

We are proud of our people and our culture – which is built on our shared values – we care, we value people, we are one team.

About us

We employ over 6,700 staff, and another 1,000 are part of our flexible workforce. The one thing we all have in common is a shared dedication to providing the best care for our patients – both our local population and those who travel from further afield for our specialist services.

We became a foundation trust on April 1, 2004 – one of the very first in the NHS to do so, and our local community plays a pivotal role in how our hospitals are governed thanks to the third-largest membership base in the country.

Learning and professional development is at the heart of our work, giving all staff the space to grow and expertise and facilities to take their careers to the next level.

We’ve been part of our local community since 1825, when Bradford Dispensary was founded to bring ‘medical relief’ to families throughout the district, and have continued to care for local people since that day.
