Bradford College

Bradford is fortunate to have several providers who offer access to further education, including Bradford College, one of the biggest FE colleges in the country with more than 20,000 students.

The college’s campus has recently undergone a multi-million pound renovation and now includes the £50 million David Hockney building, the £10 million Advanced Technology Centre, and the Trinity Green campus which provides industry-standard workshops and equipment.

The College has a strong professional and vocational focus to provide its alumni with tangible employment opportunities.

With a strong professional emphasis, Bradford College students also benefit from more taught hours and tutor contact time than many universities. Group class sizes are also very often smaller and learners benefit from one-to-one tutor support.

Bradford College is also one of the largest providers of Higher Education outside the university sector in England.

University of Bradford

The University of Bradford is home to 8,395 undergraduate and 2,815 postgraduate students, and offers world class learning in one of the friendliest, most diverse and multicultural campus communities in the UK.

Mature students make up around a third of the undergraduate community, and some 22 per cent of students are from overseas and represent over 110 different countries.

The university was recently ranked number one in the UK for undergraduate nursing and midwifery placement satisfaction. The ranking was based on feedback from final-year students who completed the annual National Student Survey (NSS) in 2016. This accomplishment followed the news that the university’s nursing and midwifery programmes had achieved an overall satisfaction rating of between 94 and 100 per cent.

The university’s Faculty of Health Studies offers practice placements with Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which helps students prepare for a career in healthcare.

Placements are an integral aspect of the university’s programmes, and account for up to 50 per cent of a student’s credits.
