Acute Referral Clinic (Eye Casualty)

Bradford Airedale & Craven have commissioned a minor eye conditions service for patients whose acute eye problem can be managed in primary care.

This includes:

  • Floaters for less than 6 weeks
  • Red, sore or Irritable eye for less than 2 weeks
  • Blurring of vision

Patients who have severe pain, visual loss or are uncomfortable in room light should be referred into the acute referral service by appointment only on 01274 364238. Alternatively patients can be referred via A&E.

Subconjunctival haemorrhage and conjunctivitis should be managed by GP in the first instance.

For patients with more chronic symptoms, please refer into clinic. The patient may receive a telephone or video consultation.
