Video appointments (Attend Anywhere)

Video calling is as convenient as a phone call, with the added value of face-to-face communication.

To attend your appointment go to NHS Attend Anywhere – BTHFT Ophthalmology.

Information for callers

If you would like to change your appointment, please contact the Central Patient Booking Service on 01274 274274.

If you are unable to make a video call and would prefer a different consultation type, please contact the consultant’s secretary.

Test only appointments

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made changes to the way appointments are booked. This is to ensure we can offer social distancing in our waiting room and keep patients and staff safe.

Patients may be offered a ‘test only’ appointment. At this appointment you will have some photographs, scans or measurements of your eye. You will not see the doctor at this visit.

The consultant’s team will review the information and call or write to you, usually within 2 weeks, to let you know the next step. This may be a repeat test only, with advice or to arrange a face to face appointment

The test only clinics will take place at Bradford Royal Infirmary, Bradford Macular Centre or University of Bradford Eye Clinic. Please check your letter carefully as it may not be the same location each time.

If you have any questions, please contact your consultant via their secretary.

Urgent problems (Acute Referral Clinic)

Acute Referral Clinic (ARC) is a clinic for patients with urgent, new onset eye problems. Patients are referred from their GP, optician or A&E. There is an appointment system and we cannot accept walk-in patients.

What do I do if I have a problem with my eye?
