The Macmillan Lung Cancer

The Macmillan Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists are there to support both patients and their families with any concerns or questions they may have about the following:

  • Emotional support and practical advice in dealing with a diagnosis of lung cancer
  • Information and advice about lung cancer and its treatments
  • Help and advice to manage symptoms. We have non-medical prescribers on our team
  • Act as a link to other support services
  • Instigate any investigations that may be necessary
  • Act as the patient advocate and promote their wishes

The Macmillan Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists cover both St. Luke’s Hospital and Bradford Royal Infirmary. They make ward visits as well as attending outpatient clinics. They can also refer patients on to the community nursing team where further support is needed at home, or where patients cannot attend hospital.

We also have a Cancer Care Coordinator and Care Navigator who can help you to be guided through your investigations and support you more generally.
