I started working at Bradford in 2014, initially working with people experiencing a range of different difficulties with their health including cancer and persistent pain. In 2021, I began work in supporting staff with the emotional impact of healthcare work and in 2022 took on the role of Lead Psychologist for Staff Support here at Bradford.
I am interested in delivering both preventative and responsive interventions to support the mental health and wellbeing of people working in BTHFT, and in maximising the potential for compassion and support between individuals within teams and systems.
I have a number of therapeutic approaches which I draw on including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR; a NICE recommended treatment for PTSD), Compassion Focussed Therapy, and Cognitive Analytic Therapy. My hope for people attending therapy with me is that they become more able to view themselves and their experiences through a more compassionate lens and feel empowered and equipped to move forward in ways which feel helpful to them.
I love creating and am really happy when absorbed in any kind of creative activity – most recently interior design projects at home. I also really enjoy dance and have tried my hand at a few types but currently I just enjoy it vicariously via Strictly Come Dancing! Beaches and lakeside walks are also a favourite.
