I am currently working as a senior clinical photographer with Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. I have obtained a distinction within my PGcert in clinical photography with Cardiff University and completed my clinical photography training whilst working within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board in South Wales. I have also attained a BSc in biology and an MSc in Biological photography and imaging from The University of Nottingham.
I have been working within the NHS as a clinical photographer for 5 years. During this time my photography work has encompassed many different specialities including ward and theatre photography, along with non-clinical techniques such as photographs for public relations purposes. The department I trained at in the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport developed a particular focus on dermatology, including specialist teledermatology clinics involving photographing lesions of interest for diagnostic purposes which taught me vital skills such as standardised representational photography and dermoscopy.
Since joining the team at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a senior photographer I have also taken the chance to observe and develop my ophthalmic imaging skills working on techniques such as optical coherence tomography (OCT), OCT Angiography (OCT A), colour fundus imaging and fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA).
I am registered on the Academy for Healthcare Science register as a qualified Medical Illustration practitioner and am an award-winning photographer within the Institute of Medical Illustrators.
