Dr. William Martin is the Dean of the Faculty of Health Studies at the University of Bradford. William is an organic chemist by training and received his PhD from the University of Nottingham. Across his lab-based career he worked on the synthesis of medicinally important molecules both in industry and academia. Since 2016, William has taken an increasing interest in teaching leadership when he took over the leadership of the chemistry programmes at the University of Bradford, and then the wider Life Sciences portfolio of programmes from 2019. He has been in his current role in the Faculty of Health since May 2024 and has prioritised developing close relationships with key partners in the delivery of Health and Social Care across Bradford District and Craven.
Originally from London, William is delighted to call West Yorkshire home and spends spare weekends fell running or walking in the hills.
