Qualifications: BDS, FDSRCS(Ed), MB ChB, FRCS(Eng), FRCS(Ed), FRCS(OMFS)
Following formal medical qualification, David spent 20 months in basic surgical training posts gaining a breadth of experience in the principles of surgical management including a period dedicated to critical care. He undertook higher level training in Liverpool which provided him with excellent experience in all aspects of the specialty including head and neck oncology.
David has completed a major clinical research project based on the potential use of molecular techniques in the management of oral mucosal dysplasia and malignancy.
He has a wide variety of experience in the management of salivary gland disease, common cutaneous malignancies of the face, including surgical reconstruction, and facial trauma, which mainly includes fractures and dealing with complex craniofacial injuries.
Clinical interests: Head and neck oncology, and management of head and neck malignancy (both cutaneous and mucosal) and salivary gland disease.
