The Paediatric Rheumatology team consists of:
- Dr Mosley – Paediatric Consultant Rheumatologist
- Dr Blanshard – Paediatric Consultant with Rheumatology interest
- Charlene Bass-Woodcock – Paediatric Rheumatology Clinical Nurse Specialist
- Stacey Ahad – Paediatric Rheumatology Clinical Nurse Specialist
- Claire Bradley – Paediatric MSK and Rheumatology Physiotherapist
We work Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm (excluding Bank Holidays).
We see children with inflammatory conditions such as Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA), Uveitis and Lupus but also see children with non-inflammatory conditions such as Hypermobility and general MSK issues. We receive referrals from a wide range of sources but mainly GP’s and Paediatricians.
The service briefly comprises of:
- MDT outpatient clinics (consultant led)
- Home visits – to provide counselling on conditions, medications, and train families in the administration of medications
- Ward visits if an inpatient
- Provide education and information for schools on conditions affecting their students
- Telephone advice line
- Twice annual Newsletters with updated information on a variety of things
- Support with Transition to Adult Services
