• Bradford Hospitals seeks new Chair to lead the Trust Board

Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a new Chair to lead its Board of Directors and Council of Governors.

Following the resignation of its previous Chair, the Trust is now searching for an exceptional person to play a vital role in shaping its future, ensuring it continues to deliver its vision to be an outstanding provider of healthcare, research and education and a great place to work.

Vice-Chair of the Council of Governors, David Wilmshurst said:

This is an exciting opportunity for a new Chair to be a leader to a talented and committed workforce of more than 6,000 colleagues at Bradford Royal Infirmary, St Luke’s Hospital, and local community hospitals who are all passionate about providing the very best healthcare to the people of Bradford and beyond.

This is a critical time in the transformation of the health and care system in Bradford District and Craven. We ‘Act as One’ with our partners in Bradford in the local system and play a key role within the wider West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership, so the Chair will need to quickly establish positive and trusted relationships with governors, the Board, hospital staff and partner organisations.

The Trust delivers a wide range of healthcare services to more than half a million people in one of the North’s most dynamic, ethnically, and culturally diverse cities and its surrounding areas.

With an annual budget of over £500 million, it is also a teaching hospital which helps to train the next generation of healthcare professionals as well as being at the forefront of healthcare research and development.

The Trust actively encourages applications from people from minority ethnic communities, people with disabilities/long term health conditions, people from the LGBTQ+ community and people from all protected categories.
