• A heartfelt message of thanks for your incredible support and solidarity

BRADFORD Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has released a heartfelt video message of thanks to the public for their support during the Covid-19 crisis.

Chief Executive, Mel Pickup, and Chair, Max Mclean, are joined by members of staff in saying thank you in different languages.

In the video, Mel says: “When I joined Bradford Teaching Hospitals on the 1 November, never did I envisage that, just a few short months later, I would be preparing this organisation for a pandemic.

“Thank you to all the businesses, schools, voluntary groups and individuals who have supported our hospital staff through this crisis so far. We have received thousands of donations – from hand cream to cooked meals, knitted hearts to the offer of the use of people’s houses!

“We are grateful for everything you have done to show your support and solidarity. We will repay you by providing the exceptional care and treatment that you all deserve.”

Max, who appears in the video with his daughter Frances, says: “My promise to you, as chairman, is that we will continue to provide the very best, outstanding, service to you here in this great city.”

Bradford Hospitals’ Charity – the Trust’s charitable arm – has so far raised almost £100,000 for its NHS Hospital Heroes appeal. The charity is also co-ordinating all gifts to the Trust with a dedicated army of staff and volunteers.

Bradford Hospitals’ Charity is also a member of NHS Charities Together, which has so far raised almost £90 million.

All money raised will be spent on supporting staff through the crisis, supporting them longer term and purchasing equipment and services to enhance care and treatment.
