Qualifications: MA (Cantab), MB BChir, MD FRCS (Eng)
James graduated from the University of Cambridge before training in general and specialist bariatric surgery in Oxford, London, New York and locally in Leeds.
He performs keyhole surgery for gastro-oesophageal reflux (GORD), hernias and gallstones. He also focuses on weight loss surgery and surgery for oesophagogastric cancer; almost all of which are undertaken using the latest laparoscopic (keyhole) techniques.
James places the patient at the heart of the decision-making process and is committed to thorough evaluation and follow-up to optimise a patient’s recovery.
In 2009, James was awarded a Clinical Excellence Award in recognition of his work in bariatric surgery.
