Qualifications

Jay graduated from the University of Leeds and completed his higher surgical training in Yorkshire.

He underwent further training in advanced laparoscopic surgery at both Hull, with Mr Chris Royston, and at Leeds General Infirmary, with Mr Simon Dexter and Professor Mike McMahon. He completed his upper GI cancer surgery training with Mr Henry Sue-Ling in Leeds.

Jay specialises in surgery for oesophageal and gastric cancer, laparoscopic surgery for gallstones, laparoscopic surgery for chronic reflux and achalasia, surgery for diseases of the spleen, morbid obesity, and laparoscopic incisional and inguinal hernia.
