I qualified from De Montfort University with a BA (Hons) as a Graphic Designer and Illustrator and completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Illustration a few years later which has helped me progress my career.
Bradford Teaching Hospitals has been my place of work for some time. Starting as a Junior Designer on a temporary contract, my current role as Senior Graphic Designer sees me working on a wide variety of exciting graphic and digital design projects ranging from patient information and scientific posters to Trust Annual Reports, but by far the most enjoyable projects for me are working on the Trust’s screensavers and developing my animation skills.
I am a trained internal auditor and have helped develop processes and procedures for a smooth workflow in the department.
I have been commended for my work on the type 2 diabetes pack for young adults in the BMA Patient Information Awards and have also received various accolades in the Institute of Medical Illustrators’ (IMI) Patient Information Awards.
A new challenge for me was when I joined the IMI 50th anniversary conference team as graphics programme lead. Finding and organising speakers and workshops, making sure the programme ran to schedule and keeping everyone happy was a challenge but one I benefitted from greatly.
Out of work I enjoy attending live music venues both large and small, but by far my biggest passion is having outdoor adventures and exploring new places with my little boy.
