Children spending Eid in hospital will receive a special surprise this week, thanks to a generous donation of Eid gift boxes from local charity My Family Group.
The charity has partnered with Bradford Hospitals Charity to brighten the spirits of children being cared for on the hospital’s children’s wards during the Eid celebrations.
Packed with thoughtful activities and toys, the Eid gift boxes have been specially put together to help young patients mark the end of Ramadan and feel part of the festivities, despite being in hospital.
Laura Riach, Charity Director at Bradford Hospitals Charity, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to My Family Group for their kindness and generosity in donating these wonderful Eid gift boxes. Spending time in hospital is tough for children and their families, especially during special occasions like Eid. This donation will help bring a little joy and comfort to our young patients and make them feel part of the celebrations.”
Aliyah Hussain, from My Family Group, added: “Eid is a time of giving, togetherness and community, and we wanted to share that spirit with children who can’t be at home to celebrate. It’s a privilege to work with Bradford Teaching Hospitals and support families during what we know can be a challenging time. We hope the gifts bring lots of smiles to the children’s faces.”
The hospital team will distribute the gift boxes across the children’s wards during Eid.
