• Bradford Royal Infirmary to host Service of Remembrance

Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is inviting patients who are veterans and serving members of the Armed Forces, along with their families to a Service of Remembrance.

The service will be held at Bradford Royal Infirmary and will honour and remember the dedication and sacrifice of all those who have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life.

The Act of Remembrance on Monday, 11 November, will be led by the Rev Steve Lees, a Church of England practitioner in the Trust’s Spiritual, Pastoral and Religious Care (SPaRC) team, formerly the Chaplaincy team.

Those attending are asked to gather from 10.40am on the hospital’s main concourse for the short service, which will conclude with a two minutes’ silence at 11am.

The Trust is proud to be accredited as Veteran Aware, which formally recognises its commitment to the Armed Forces community.

Armed Forces Veterans Lead for the Trust, Fiona Mattison said:

BTHFT is committed to improving NHS care for veterans, reservists, members of the Armed Forces and their families, so we thought it would be nice to have an open invite for veterans in the community to come and join in the Service of Remembrance and be part of this special occasion.

The service will be followed by refreshments and donated bakes, which will be on sale. This will be an opportunity to mingle and catch up with fellow veterans. There will also be wartime music and songs, and representation from the Royal British Legion.
