Andy was born in St. Luke’s, Bradford, and spent a lot of time being treated at BRI as a child and teenager. He left to study and has lived in Merseyside, Cheshire, the Netherlands and down south. He has qualifications in chemistry and psychology – he is Dr. Waller, but not of the medical kind! He spent most of his work career with Unilever – a consumer goods company – working in the UK and globally, in research, strategy and HR. He now has a portfolio career and combines work with voluntary work and pleasure. He mainly works for the Judicial Appointments Commission – appointing judges – and the School Teacher Review Body – the independent pay review body for teachers. As a volunteer, he has been a school governor for more than 20 years and chaired a school trust; he has been a governor of a NHS Foundation Trust for 6 years – Clatterbridge Cancer Centre; and he volunteers for Macmillan Cancer Support – providing direct support to people living with cancer.

He is married, has three children – two living in Yorkshire, one in Germany – and is in the process of returning to Yorkshire himself. He is passionate about Bradford City – despite living away, he kept a season ticket and enjoys the highs and lows.
