Young patients at Bradford Royal Infirmary will have a ball of a time when the undisputed Bradford pantomime legend, Billy Pearce drops into the children’s ward to bring New Year sparkle and magic.
Billy, aka Buttons is appearing in this year’s fairy godmother of pantomimes, Cinderella at Bradford’s Alhambra Theatre but he will be taking a break from performances on Thursday, January 11 for the visit.
He will be joined by other members of the cast – including Emmerdale star Samantha Giles (Wicked Stepmother), celebrity baker and Strictly Come Dancing finalist John Whaite (Dandini), Dale Mathurin (Prince Charming), Sarah Pearson (Cinderella), Phil Hitchcock (Magician Baron Hardup), Wendy Somerville and Larissa Alexandrovnia (The Wicked Stepsisters.)
The visit has been arranged by Bradford Hospitals Charity and the Charity’s Director, Sharon Milner said:
We are very grateful to Billy and his fellow cast members for taking time out of their busy schedule to visit our young patients.
This has become an annual tradition and the children and their families – as well as staff – really look forward to the visit as there is always lots of fun and laughter guaranteed. It’s lovely to see the magic of pantomime brought to the hospital. The Alhambra is very generous in bringing gifts for the children too.
