Christmas is a time of giving and that is certainly true for Bradford hospital staff who have gratefully received a generous seasonal donation from Sovereign Health Care.
Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (BTHFT) has a longstanding partnership with Sovereign, a Bradford-based company, which has been focused on the health and wellbeing of local people for over 150 years.
Sovereign’s Community Programme has been supporting local organisations and charities as well as the NHS for many years, making a real difference to people’s lives, and in the run up to Christmas, it presented BTHFT with a special Christmas gift; a donation of £15,000 towards enhancing nursing care.
Chief Nurse, Karen Dawber said: “On behalf of the Trust, I would once again like to express our sincere thanks to Sovereign Health Care for their generous donation and continued support of nursing here at BTHFT.
“This year the donation will be used to continue developing our professional practice model and we will also be using the donation to fund bespoke training for staff to enable them to lead with confidence and compassion.
“We also want to celebrate and thank nurses and midwives for the ongoing contribution they make. In 2024 we will be holding a nursing and midwifery conference to showcase all of the work our staff do. This donation will help to make this event even more successful.”
Sovereign’s Chief Executive, Neil McCallum said: “This donation continues to demonstrate our commitment to supporting NHS services in the region. To be able to support staff training and a conference to showcase and celebrate the wonderful work at BTHFT, is something we are extremely proud of.”
