What is the Early Arthritis Service?

The Bradford Early Arthritis Service is a “One-Stop Clinic” designed to treat patients with joint pain or swelling, who may have a type of inflammatory arthritis.

The service aims to diagnose and treat arthritis as early and as effectively as possible, tailoring our approach specifically to you to find the best therapy and to prevent any possible damage to your joints.

What is a One-Stop Clinic?

A “One-Stop Clinic” allows patients access to see a number of health professionals in one hospital appointment, thus removing the need for multiple hospital appointment visits. A typical appointment will consist of the initial consultant appointment, followed by some or all of the following:

  • ultrasound/X-ray tests
  • blood tests
  • specialist nurse consultations to start your treatment if required
  • physiotherapy advice on managing your condition

How long will my appointment be?

This could be anywhere between 1-3 hours depending on which elements of the “One-Stop Clinic” you are required to participate in.
