Kursh was born in Pakistan and came to Bradford with his parents as a nine-month old child. He has since lived and worked in the city in various roles and run several successful businesses. Married father of four has lived in Bradford East for all but the early months of his life and is a respected member of his community.

CEO of the organisation BAME Voices, which works within the health/wellbeing sector addressing issues relating to health inequalities in marginalised communities and specialising in community engagement.

Kursh sits on various boards and panels for business, social enterprises and charities ranging from Yorkshire Water to small charities. He has serve three years as a governor at the BTHFT for Braford East and is now serving a second term.

Sports have played a large part in his early years, playing semi-pro football with Ossett Town and cricket with Bowling Old Lane in the Bradford League, nowadays he more of a spectator, encouraging youngsters to participate.

Making Bradford an inclusive city for all its communities, helping improve health and quality of life is now his driving force and focus.
