Re-designing our services so that we have an element of virtual care running alongside traditional models of care will mean that we need to re-align our workforce and provide new training to allow them to work in new ways.

This will ensure that we have the right number of people with the right skills so that we can to continue to provide high quality virtual care to the same standard as in a conventional hospital setting.

Provide improved patient experience

We will work together with our clinicians to develop these workforce models and to identify and meet training needs for our workforce at all levels.

This is why each of our workstreams within the VRI programme is led by our senior clinicians and our new models of care will be designed by the doctors, nurses and allied health professionals

Redesign staffing models

We will also cooperate with our partners so that we work together to develop our staff across the Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership (HCP).

By doing this we will develop the idea of “badge-less care” which acknowledges that many patients and their carers either do not recognise, or are not concerned, whether a member of staff is from our Trust, the local Care, Primary Care or the Local Authority. They just recognise that a health or care professional is caring for them.

We have used our joint commitment to “Act as One” to begin to break down the barriers between different care providers.

Act as One

We will continue to do this as part of our development of the VRI programme, by working with other providers in our local HCP to join-up or pool staff, developing the concept of badge-less care so that we create seamless virtual care pathways.
