The NHS is one of the most cherished and recognisable brands in the world and will be celebrating its 75th birthday this year. In England alone, there are approximately 220 trusts (acute, mental health, specialist or community) which collectively have 142,000 beds with almost 16 million people seen in A&E departments every year. With an institution as vast as the NHS, there are numerous technologies, approaches and innovations that are not only implemented but also originate from within the NHS.
