New home for HIV service

Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s HIV services now have a new home. The clinic has moved from its former base at the Trinity Centre, Trinity Road, Bradford just around the corner to the grounds of St Luke’s Hospital, Little Horton Lane. It is sharing premises in the Pain Management Clinic building.

'Tree of hope' aims to help bring communities together

The chaplaincy team at Bradford Teaching Hospitals has erected a ‘Tree of Hope’ at Bradford Royal Infirmary to urge the city to unite in the wake of the recent atrocities in Manchester and London. Members of staff and the public are invited to place a heart-shaped token on the tree, which stands in the hospital’s new atrium, to express support for those affected.

The Chaplaincy Service at Bradford Royal Infirmary and St Luke’s Hospital, both part of Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, is looking to add to its team of volunteers to cater for people’s spiritual needs during their hospital stay.

Daughter's special thanks for life-saving care

The daughter of a policeman who received life-saving treatment at Bradford Royal Infirmary (BRI) is to take on a sponsored run to pay tribute to the staff who helped save her dad’s life. Emily Lightowler, 28, is preparing to run the Helsinki Half Marathon with partner Joe Horton, 30, on June 10 to raise funds for the cardiology unit at Bradford Royal Infirmary.

Hard-working specialists who work across Bradford Teaching Hospitals diagnosing and supporting the treatment of eye conditions are gearing up to celebrate World Orthoptic Day on Monday (June 5). Junior doctor swaps Bahrain for Bradford

A junior doctor has swapped Bahrain for Bradford to see first-hand the skills of the city’s doctors and nurses. Asifa Laulloo’s usual workplace is the King Hamad University Hospital in Al Sayh, in the Persian Gulf. But she has made the 4,000 mile journey from the Middle East to West Yorkshire to spend a one-month elective shadowing staff at Bradford Royal Infirmary, part of Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

New home for breast-screening service

Breast-screening services for women in Eccleshill and the surrounding area are moving to a new ‘home’ this year. The mobile unit run by the Pennine Breast Screening Service, based at St Luke’s Hospital, part of Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, will be based in the car park of the Inspire Bradford Business Park, Newlands House One, Newlands Way, Bradford BD10 0JE (behind Eccleshill Community Hospital.)
