May 19th, 2017Two intrepid members of staff from Bradford Royal Infirmary have raised over £5,000 for dementia patients by walking along the Great Wall of China. Consultant Physician, Care of the Elderly, Eliz Brierley, and Lead Nurse for Dementia, Danni Woods, took on a 22-mile five-day trek along stretches of the famous structure for Bradford Teaching Hospitals’ Forget-Me-Not fund.

May 3rd, 2017Midwives at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will join together this Friday to celebrate an event at the city’s Royal Infirmary (BRI) which recognises the vital role they play in improving maternal and child health. International Day of the Midwife, which takes place annually on May 5, is the internationally recognised day for highlighting the work of midwives here in the UK and across the world.
May 3rd, 2017A senior Bradford midwife turned researcher has been appointed Visiting Associate Professor at the University of Leeds’ School of Healthcare. Diane Farrar, a Research Fellow at the Bradford Institute for Health Research (BIHR), which is based at Bradford Royal Infirmary (BRI), part of NHS Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, has been rewarded for her expertise and knowledge of maternal and infant health.
April 25th, 2017A suite of rooms which offer the families of stillborn children a private space to create lasting memories with baby has received a makeover. Thanks to funding from Bradford Teaching Hospital’s Children’s Charity, the Maternity Unit’s Snowdrop Suite at Bradford Royal Infirmary has been revamped and redecorated.
April 18th, 2017A heart-warming scheme is bringing comfort to relatives and carers of Bradford hospital patients. Bradford Hospitals’ Charity has recently spent £5,000 on 500 comfort bags, which are handed out during difficult times to relatives and carers of patients at Bradford Royal Infirmary and St Luke’s Hospital.
April 4th, 2017A Bradford hospital worker is trekking along the roof of the world to Everest Base Camp for poorly children. Shaun Phelan is currently in Nepal, where he’s embarked on a 40-mile trek to Everest base camp at altitudes over five times higher than Mount Snowdon (up to 5,545 metres).
