Can you sing, tell a good tale, chat or simply entertain and audience – or know anyone who can?
Then you could be just what Radio Royal, Bradford Royal Infirmary’s very own hospital radio station, is looking for.
New talent is now being sought and the search is on for acts to brighten up the airwaves as part of a new slot called ‘The Sunday Spotlight Live.’
As well as an opportunity to showcase their talent live on air, the acts will have the pleasure of entertaining our patients, of course!
Radio Royal presenter Ami Brodie said: “The aim is to continue to provide patients with a service that is both engaging, offers variety and provides useful information, as well as enabling listeners to appreciate live acts from local talent they would otherwise not necessarily have come across.”
New and exciting slot
Radio Royal has been in operation at Bradford Royal Infirmary (BRI) - part of Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - since 1952, and The Sunday Spotlight Live is a new and exciting slot.
Ami added: “We are now on the lookout for artists who can sing or simply entertain just by chatting.”
The radio station is a charity run by a small but dedicated group of volunteers who visit our wards collecting requests to brighten up our patients’ stays in hospital. It relies purely on donations.
The first show in this new series featured Vanessa Maria, a singer/songwriter from Bradford singing live at the studio. If you think you could lend your talents then please get in touch by calling the studio number on 01274 364917 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
