Equality and Diversity
Welcome to our Equality and Diversity pages. This is where you will find out what we are doing on equality and diversity to improve employment opportunities and services in Bradford District for all staff and patients. Our equality and diversity work is done in partnership with:

Equality Objectives for 2016 - 2020
On 6th April 2016 Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust launches a new set of equality objectives. These objectives have been developed following involvement with the local voluntary and community sector, staff and public sector partners and an external consultation process of which there were 156 individual responses.
The objectives have been approved and ratified by the Trust
Board of Directors. The objectives set out the eight equality priorities that
will be worked on over the next four years. They are shared objectives with
Bradford District Care Foundation Trust and Airedale NHS Foundation Trust.
Progress will be monitored against the equality objectives every six months by the Trust Board of Directors.
- A Summary of the Equality Objectives can be found here
- A Summary, along with the rationale for the Objective can be found here
Please note that these are the headline objectives and for
each there is or will be a detailed delivery plan developed and delivered.

You will not be discriminated against on any grounds including age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation. You have a responsibility to treat other patients and our staff with dignity and respect

Review of Bradford, Airedale, Craven and Wharfedale NHS Equality Objectives
We are reviewing the local NHS provider Trusts equality
objectives for 2016-20. The objectives are important because they are what we
will prioritise our time and resources around improving for the next 4 years.
The current set we have was developed with involvement from the local voluntary and community sector representing patients and carers and with staff from our organisations. We want to gain feedback on what we need to prioritise for the next 4 years from as wider number of people as possible. Attached to this e-mail is a presentation and PDF document that outlines the process we have been through to develop the original set and the process we are using now to review and agree a new set for 2016.
I would be very grateful if you could complete a short survey to tell us your thoughts. We would like to hear what evidence you have to support that priority “this will help us to expand our knowledge base and make decisions about the objectives.
We would also be grateful if you could distribute this survey to other organisations or individuals and encourage participation.
Please copy and paste the following hyperlink in to your browser to get to the survey.
If you would like to talk to someone about the survey, the process or the equality work of the NHS locally please contact me and I will direct you to one of the health partners.
