Bradford Hospitals Charity is a registered charity, number 1061753. Each year we receive generous donations and legacies from members of the public which are used to enhance the patient experience over and above the core services or facilities that are funded by the Government.

The Trust is committed to improving the services and quality of
care for patients and carers in Bradford and the surrounding areas. The charity
plays a vital role in raising funds for the Trust to help to ensure the best
quality of care is provided by funding aspects such as:
- Life-saving and up to date equipment
- Patient and carer support
- Additional staff and staff training and development
- Research and development
- Improving and enhancing the Hospital environment
With thanks to our supporters, Bradford Hospitals Charity is able to make a real difference to the care that people receive when they visit our hospitals. We will always support the wishes of our donors' to ensure their donations are spent according to their choice, whether this is to go to a specific appeal, department or ward. However, we do also encourage donations to be made to the overall hospital fund so we can support the areas which need it the most.

Examples of how your donations have been spent:
- Four mechanical chest compression devices, at a cost of £25,820
- Video urodynamics equipment to offer an enhanced urodynamic service to patients, at a cost of £26,045
- £37,608 was spent on staff training
- Distraction toys for Children's areas
- WIFI for patient use
- A portable ultrasound unit, at a cost of £19,500. Having a portable ultrasound will enable the rheumatologists to perform the ultrasound, provide results and start treatment all in one appointment for the patient, thus improving patient experience.

Making a donation
Please ask a member of staff on the ward you are visiting for a donation envelope and if you prefer, you can choose which ward or department you would like your donation to be allocated to by indicating on the envelope. You can return your donation envelope to our Cashier's office based at BRI or St Luke's or a senior member of staff on the ward.
Please print off this Gift Aid form and include it along with your cheque payable to "Bradford Hospitals Charity and post to: Finance Department, Bradford Royal Infirmary, Duckworth Lane, Bradford BD9 6RJ.
Make a donation using your debit or credit card. If you are a UK tax payer, please include Gift Aid which will allow us to recover an additional 25% from the Government at no extra cost to you.

Employee Payroll Giving
Payroll Giving is a means for employees to donate to any UK registered charity directly from their Gross Pay “ so before tax is taken. This gives an immediate tax relief of up to 45% depending what rate of tax an employee pays. In order to operate the scheme, your employer needs to contract with a recognised Payroll Giving Agency such as Charities Trust. You can download our Payroll Giving form and present it to your HR advisor at your place of work.

To collect donations, please request a Sponsorship Form and where possible, remember to ask your friends and family to include their address and Gift Aid signature.
